C’mon, you guys. Look, I know that some of you nit-pickers may have reservations about this statement, like that there is not even of wisp of cigar smoke to connect Weinstein’s premise to the conclusion, or that you have rarely seen so much intellectual chaos packed into just three sentences, but ask yourselves this: have you ever gone on television to read a 50-second statement off a teleprompter in which you ask people with far less money than you to send in donations for victims of a natural disaster? Have you ever made a movie in which you stare mistily at a gifted yet “at risk” minority teen you have just taught to read? Are you “there” (where?) for victims of any world catastrophe? That’s what I thought.
